Removing Google Analytics Access from Vendors & Ex-Employees

Many times when you hire the services of an internet marketing agency, wether it’s for PPC, SEO, SEM, or Social media management, the agency or consultant request you give them access to Google analytics, which is a reasonable request.

However, when you end your engagement with the consultant or employee, I would venture to say that almost every one forgets to remove this access. It’s could potentially be a HUGE issue, but it’s nice to know they no longer have access to sensitive data that they might use to get a job with a competitor or to setup shop to compete with you directly.

It only take a 30 seconds to remove access so get it done.

Go to your Google analytics account.

Click on user manager.

Find the user you want to remove and click delete.

You’re all done!

So I was recently on an exotic car rental directory I work on for a client and I found a link to this domain www.jaguardealer.com and this is what I found as a “website”:

As you can tell this is doing Jaguar who owns the domain no good. So what are they missing out on you ask?

2,910 sites that mention and link to them!

With the $94.5 million ad budget Jaguar spends yearly, you would think they’d take advantage of the 100% free advertising these 2,910 websites are giving them.

But nope, they let go of the free advertising instead and prefer to spend almost $95 million. Let’s see if the new owners at Tata Group get their act together and start using the web to sell more jaguars. After all, what more targeted lead could you ask for than someone searching for a “JAGUAR DEALER”.
